Kate's Gluten Free Recipes
Because she and her family are Gluten intolerant, for many years Kate Wright adapted her families’ favourites to enable them to enjoy food without the side effects caused by Gluten. When working for a natural Physician in Timaru, the voiced cry of many patients when asked to try taking Gluten out of their diets was, “what can I give them to eat?” Kate willingly shared ideas and recipes with these people so they could take the ‘stress’ out of cooking and food preparation. Imparting simple suggestions based on her own experiences with Gluten elimination, these people gathered enough confidence to experiment with gluten-free products, freeing their loved ones of the direct burden. Her natural Physician suggested and encouraged her to put these recipes into a book. It took approximately a year to create and adapt new recipes for which friends gladly became guinea pigs, and unsuspecting birds enjoying the failures! Based on reader feedback it was identified children’s birthday parties and sugar-free baking were areas requiring attention, hence the ongoing development culminating in her second book – Kate’s Gluten Free Recipes.
